Ghana Premier League holders Accra Hearts of Oak have been drawn against JS Saoura from Algeria in the Additional Second Preliminary Round of the 2021/22 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup conducted at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt on Tuesday.

The draw which was held at 11:00 GMT (13:00 Cairo Local Time) saw the 16 teams which qualified from the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup second Preliminary Round, face the losing 16 teams from the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League second Preliminary Round.

JS Saoura was in Pot 2, which consisted of the Confederation Cup’s eight lowest-ranked clubs.

After falling apart in Morocco, Hearts will look to the Confederation Cup as a way to get back on track.

The first leg of the fixture will be played between November 26-28, while the return leg is scheduled for December 3-5.

The Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 is yet to be won by JS Saoura. They were runners-up in 2016 and 2018, although they still compete in the Caf Confederation Cup on a regular basis.

In the 2018/2019 CAF Champions League group stage, they were joined by Al Ahly, Simba FC, and Vita Club.

Since 2017, Saoura has been a regular in CAF events, having been founded in 2008.

The draw was conducted by the head of CAF Competitions Khaled Nassar and assisted by Egypt and Zamalek legend Ismail Youssef.
