Africa Education Watch (Eduwatch), an education think tank, is requesting that the General Legal Council (GLC) admits 499 students who were denied admission to the Ghana School of Law.

According to Eduwatch, the Ghana School of Law’s decision to deny students access to legal education is unjust and unjustifiable.

We call on the Ghana School of Law to admit the 499 students either as in-person or virtual students, in line with government’s tertiary education policy”.

The decision, it claimed, runs counter to the government’s goal of increasing tertiary enrollment by 2030.

The Ghana School of Law’s move runs counter to the government’s own aim of tripling tertiary enrolment by 2030 and ensuring fair chances for career advancement and skill development as a means of reducing graduate unemployment. the statement said”

However, if the Ghana Law School is limited by physical space, Eduwatch has proposed a remedy, stating that “the students could be accepted as in-person or virtual students”.

“We call on His Excellency the President to intervene in this act of injustice” the statement ended.
