Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has disclosed that his habit of not picking calls is an issue he has been battling with.

Speaking to Sammy Flex, host of Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon FM, the rapper said it has gotten to a point where his mother complains about that attitude of his. He said, “The issue of picking calls is a general thing. Even my mom has the same problem with it so I don’t see why it should be taken personally. If you speak to my mother today, she will tell you her major problem with me is my refusal to pick her calls.”

This comes after Ghanaian rapper Edem claims that Sarkodie blatantly refused to answer his calls when they had a video shoot appointment which cost him a huge amount of money. The song by Edem ‘favor’ which featured Efya and Sarkodie was released in February 2021.

When questioned by Sammy Flex on why he did not show up for the video shoot, Sarkodie said he was surprised Edem took the issue personal. Adding that “I don’t pick calls all the time unless I have an appointment with that person then I will have to keep up. I can agree that he has been calling me and not getting through but it is not deliberate. I really don’t want to speak about it because I cannot remember. I still can’t remember what happened so I will just have to agree with whatever he is saying whether true or not.”

The rapper however noted that from his side, “I don’t think there is an issue with Edem.”

Speaking about why he is often missing in the media space for interviews, the rapper noted that he was all about the positive vibes and tried as much as possible to avoid all the negative energy around him.

I try to stay away a little bit for interview to avoid controversies. I am not scared of controversies, but I hate negative energy. I move away from anything which will affect my positivity…it is a state of mind, and I prefer being in my corner,” he said.
