Commuters are to brace up and prepare to pay more as effective Saturday 5th June 2021, transport fares are set to go up by 13%. This decision according to the Ghana Road Transport operators, have become necessary due to high cost of maintenance fees and fuel.

The group said after long negotiations with stakeholders, a 13% upward adjustment in fares across all category of services has been agreed upon, hence the announcement.

The fare as it stands now, cover road transport operators such as Intra-city vehicles popularly referred as Trotro, Intercity buses, or long distance buses and shared taxis.
