Lovers of Theophilus Tagoe, popularly known in the music industry as Castro De Destroyer, may have been disappointed when his father announced that the family will not hold funeral for the artist who went missing seven years ago in the Ada Estuary.

According to the Evidence Act of 1975, section 33, a person can only be declared legally dead after seven years by a court, where the person in question has not been seen or heard from in 7 years despite diligent and persistent efforts to find him.

In accordance with the Evidence Act, Castro was pronounced officially dead on 8th June 2021.

However speaking in an interview Takoradi based Skyy Fm, Castro’s father Mr. Eshun speaking noted that although the state has declared him dead, it would not be prudent to force the family to have a befitting funeral for the singer.

We are law-abiding family so we would not resist the nation’s declaration that he is dead but that would not pressure us to hold a funeral for him, what if he appears after the funeral.”?

The father of the late singer has called on all those demanding that the family holds a befitting funeral for the late singer to stop. He said there is nothing on earth that will cause the family to rescind the decision of no funeral.

For Mr. Eshun, the disappearance of his son remained a mirage, insisting that his son is not dead unless the police provide his body as proof.

Castro and Janet Bandu together with Gyan brothers went ‘chilling’ in Ada in 2014. The Gyan brothers returned but Castro and Janet never did. They had an accident on the Ada Estuary when they went on a Jet Ski ride. Since their disappearance, there have been several theories concerning what really happened that day.

Although the law has pronounced them dead, there are people out there who still believe they are alive, including some religious leaders.

Fetish priests have made claims that he is now in the marine world living the best of life and would soon return to this world.
