UK based Ghanaian Gospel musician and songwriter George Krown said he discovered himself when he wrote and recorded his first song.
The musician who doubles as a Deacon in the Church of Pentecost in an inter with Sammy Flex, host of Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon 102.1 FM said, that his new song “Onyame Aye Bi” is a discovery of himself.
Speaking on his journey to his new song, Mr. Krown stated that “I was going for lectures one faithful day and a friend of mine posted an old group picture which I was part. I reflected on the picture and became very emotional and that was how I wrote my new music”
“That is how it all started. Seasons contribute to the type of music I do and the songs I do are discovery of myself”
When questioned by Sammy Flex on whether or not he feels it is right for the Church to pay him for singing, he stated that “Church is a business, and if a member wants to hold a program, you are made to a token to the church. The church also takes offering and tithes. Therefore the church should pay for the services people render in the church”
So Music is business, once you put in money you have to get some returns but you should not state a price, he said.
George Krown explained that the Church of Pentecost does not pay for the services he renders, he would also not asked to be paid.
Touching on his social life, Mr. Krown believes the bible does not condemn alcohol and neither will he but added that taking alcohol is not a sin, but how you take it is the sin.
