Two persons suspected to have killed a social activist in Ejura in the Ashanti Region, have been picked for questioning and further actions.

The two, Ibrahim Issaka and Fuseini Alhassan have been identified through investigation carried out by the Ashanti Regional Police Command following the Friday June 25, 2021 killing of Ibrahim Muhammed, referred to affectionately as Macho or Kaaka by his loved ones.

It would be recalled that Kaaka was reported to have been attacked by unknown assailants in front of his home when he was returning from the town on that Friday. The threat according to the brother of the deceased was meant to stop him from making the NPP government unpopular on the social media, especially Facebook.

Various individuals had gone to report Kaaka to the Ejura Police in order to get him to stop his social work. Instead of cautioning those individuals to refrain from intimidating and threatening Kaaka in the exercise of his Constitutional rights as a citizen, the Police rather issued Kaaka with a warning letter” the brother to the deceased explained. He also charged the Police in the area to arrest the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, on Monday, 28th June, 2021, Godwin Ahianyo, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO said two suspects have been arrested at about 10:45 pm following police intelligence.

He however added that the suspects are assisting the Police in investigation.
