Security Analyst Bill Ocloo feared there could be disenchantment among the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) over the new role handed beleaguered Lieutenant Colonel Frank Agyeman despite an ongoing investigation. For him, it is unusual for restricted documents from the GAF to leak into the public domain as seen recently, adding that the possible reason attributable to that could be that there is some high amount of disappointment brewing among the officers.

Bill Ocloo who is well vexed in matters of security, told Noel Nutsugah on Zylofon Fm’s morning show THE STATECRAFT that “this is unusual for a classified document to find its way into the public domain like it did, it means some of the officers are disappointed and are not happy. It is not common for document from GAF to leak such easily. It tells you that there is disenchantment among the security agency. They are not happy about what is going on, that I can tell you

It would be recalled that, immediately a day after the National Security Ministry issued statement to investigate Lt. Col. Frank Agyeman, for his role in what is now known as Kudahgate, a document tagged “restricted” emerged, detailing his new role at the Head Quarters of the Ghana Armed Forces. This development did not go down well with many people as they believe it could serve as an incentive for other officers to engage on similar actions. A position firmly supported by Security Analyst Bill Ocloo.

He explained that the Ghana Armed Forces should have waited for investigations to conclude and its findings made public before assigning Lt. Col. Frank Agyeman as the Commander of the 64 Infantry Regiment.

Asked what the consequences for this action by GAF could have, he retorted that “It won’t serve as deterrent to other officers, they will rather find it as a motivation to do the same thing he did or more. Even those who are against what he did would not be happy

He expressed disappointment in the decision of ‘highly disciplined’ GAF for hastily welcoming Lt. Col. Frank Agyeman, describing it as inappropriate. He noted that “the timing was wrong. There is an investigation and until it is proven beyond reasonable doubts that he has done no wrong, then they can go ahead and offer him such position but not like this manner

We are still awaiting for the investigation to conclude, people are still crying and disappointed, the least GAF should have done was to wait. But to give him new role within 48 hours is not appropriate and what do you think people will say” he queried.
