Prices of sachet water will from Wednesday November 3, 2021 inch up by a pesewa in the Northern Region as Regional Sachet Water Association in consultation with its national leadership, announced an increase on price of the commodity in the region.

The increment according to the association has been necessitated by high cost of materials for production, increase in fuel prices and distribution cost among others.

In a press statement on Monday, November 1, 2021, signed by the regional chairman, available to Mynewsafric.com, informs the general public on the price increment on a bag of sachet water from GHS3.00 to GHS3.50p from both trucks and depots.

The price of iced sachet water will thus move from 20 pesewas to 30 pesewas as announced by the national body, adding that the revised prices takes effect from Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

“This price review has been necessitated by the rising cost of production and distribution, the release informed” the statement added.

Speaking to Mynewsafric.com, correspondent Melody Hini-Amoako the regional chairman Salifu Nuhu   indicated that there was the need for the increment due to the high cost of materials for the production of the water and distribution due to unstable increment on fuel prices.

He said the decision is to ensure that they are also breaking even and running at a lost.

“There have been some mixed reactions from the general public concerning the increment and this is expected, when there is change, is not everyone that embraces it and we are not doing this because of our selfish political interest, indeed some people may raise concerns about this but we are doing this purposely to sustain the business and continue to provide clean drinking water for them”, he said.

We are soliciting the support and cooperation of the general public to make this success, the released urged.
