Victims of the alleged Sodomy that occurred at Kulpi Primary and Junior High Schools in Salaga are being examined in Tamale.

Families of the victims had initially stated that they could not afford to travel to Tamale for medical examinations due to financial constraints, after health professionals at the Salaga Government Hospital recommended the Tamale Teaching Hospital for the children to be tested.

However, Member of Parliament for Salaga South Constituency Hajia Zuweira Ibrahimah has intervened

She agreed to cover the expense of all 19 victims’ examinations with support from Developing Kids Ghana, a non-profit organization.

On Wednesday, the victims and their relatives arrived in Tamale for a medical evaluation.

On September 29, 2021, seven pupils of the Kulpi Junior High School in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region have accused a teacher of the school for allegedly sodomizing them.

A total of 16 victims have come to accuse a teacher, Natomah Otabel of being the one who carried out the act on them.

The children together with their parents were issued police medical forms to go to the Salaga Government Hospital for medical examination.

Meanwhile, medical officers at the Salaga Government Hospital have referred all 16 victims to Tamale for the said medical examination.

According to the families of the victims, the hospital is unable to run the necessary tests, hence the referral.
