President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Monday, October 18, begins a two-day tour of the Central Region, as part of his working visit to all the 16 regions of the country.

The President is expected to commission and inspect projects under the Government’s One-District- One-Factory initiative and ongoing road works in the region.

He will also visit and interact with traditional authorities in the respective communities.

His first stop will see him inspect engineering laboratories and workshops constructed by the Ministry of Education and the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training, located in the Cape Coast Technical University.

He will also proceed to pay a courtesy call on chiefs of the Oguaa Traditional Area.

He will also call on the chiefs of Assin North in Assin Breku and Effutuakwa in Assin Fosu; cut the sod for the construction of the Assin Praso-Assin Fosu Road in the Assin Central Constituency; and break the ground for the construction of the Nyankomasi Ahenkro to Assin Jakai Cocoa Road.

Then on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, the President will call on the chiefs of Hemang Lower Denkyira; cut the sod for the construction of the Hemang-Nsutem Cocoa Road, as well as commission the Central Oil Mills at Assin Jukwa.

He will later commission a number of projects including a community centre, health facility, a library, and the Museum of Effutu Culture, at Winneba, in the Effutu Constituency, while commissioning of lubricant factory, also under the 1D1F initiative, at Gomoa Akotsi Fetteh Junction in the Gomoa East Constituency before departing the region.

Meanwhile, former President John Dramani Mahama is expected to leave the Central Region to visit the Oti Region on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 as part of his ‘Thank You’ tour.

Former President Mahama is expected to do a live radio programme on Beyond FM in the Nkwanta South Municipality, which would feed all local radio stations across the Oti enclave.

He is expected to speak on his ‘unbreakable legacy’ in the region amongst them being the CHPS Compounds, E-Blocks, roads, hospitals, and schools.

He will also engage with party stakeholders, all former and current regional executives, Oti Regional parliamentary caucus, Regional Council of Elders, 2020 parliamentary aspirants, former government appointees, constituency executives, TEIN patrons, cadres and former MPs at Kyabobo centre.

Former President Mahama would interact with the Regional House of Chiefs and other sub-chiefs at the Gateway Conference Hall at Nkwanta, the statement said.

He would meet the chiefs and people of the newly inaugurated Guan District at Likpe Mate, the district capital, it said.
