Ikon, a Tema based musician has accused Kweku Darlington of stealing his song ‘Sika Fi’.

According to the Artiste, his song ‘Sika Fi’ was recorded in March 2021 and a sample of it was posted on his status, but was later pulled down due to the comments he was receiving.

I did Sika Fii somewhere in March and did a WhatsApp video and posted. But it did not last for 24 hours before i pulled it down due to the responses that were coming in.”

He went on to say that “I sang it with the instrumental, i know some people saved it. You know those status savers, and reshared my video because it was nice. Last month I realized my video of the song was trending because I was getting screenshots of it trending, but I didn’t have money that is why I didn’t release it.”

Sharing his reason for releasing the song on Saturday, Ikon said a friend shared a video of Kweku Darlington with him, where Darlington was seen singing he (Ikon’s) song so “I called my producer and told him what was happening. So we hit the studio and my producer called ‘kumi kasa’ who is a blogger”

Speaking to Arnold Alavanyo on Zylofon FM, Ikon revealed that several efforts were made by his team to get Kweku Darlington’s team to sit and discuss the issue but rather the latter’s manager was asking to “paying more money in order to sabotage Ikon”.

“Kumi Kasa posted my video and that of Kweku Darlington and Kweku’s manager told him not to upload our songs but wait whatever money we gave him, he will pay double of it. Kumi sent us the chat between him and Kweku’s manager.”

He added that Kweku Darlington’s manager “told me he would send me to native doctor.”

Kwame Baah, the manager of Kweku Darlington however rubbished all the allegations leveled against him and his artist. He told Arnold Alavanyo that his artist had recorded the song in May 13,2021 and it was published by a certain lady on YouTube.

We didn’t steal anyone’s song. I really spoke to Kumi Kasa but didn’t tell him to sabotage Ikon. A certain girl uploaded Kweku Darlington’s video on May 13,2021 and i sent him the link. Nana (as he calls his artist) is stubborn, i told him not to record his song and put it on his status. We scheduled ours to drop in November so when i saw Ikon premiering the song I was angry. Nana posted it on his status and snap and someone stole the song.”

As to the real owner of the song, Mynewsafric.com doesn’t know and we will follow this keenly and bring latest developments on it.
