Rosemond Brown, known in showbiz circles as Akuapem Poloo has revealed that she did not think that multiple award winning actress Nana Ama Macbrown will stand for her when she was slapped with a sentence by the court.

Akuapem Pollo pleaded guilty after being slapped with three charges for going naked on social media with her son, but was later granted bail by the Accra High Court on appeal.

Being a single mother, sympathizers across Ghana including Nigeria started a movement to plead on behalf of the actress. The likes of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, with movie stars like Nana Ama Macbrown, Jackie Appiah joined the #free Akuapem Poloo movement

However, for Akuapem Polo it came to her as a surprise to see the actress and Television personality Nana Ama Macbrown joining the movement to free her.

Speaking to Arnold Alavanyo on Zylofon FM’s mid-morning entertainment program, Showbiz Agenda, the actress said that “Some few people I didn’t know would stand for me did. Nana Ama Macbrown was one. When I was new in the industry, she advised me to stop what I was doing because it was not the right way but I did not listen. But I realized she stood for me in fighting for my freedom.”

Adding that the media helped her to gain her freedom, saying without the media voices would not have been heard.

Though the actress is a single parent, she revealed that her baby Daddy sends money from time to time to cater for their son.

My Baby Daddy sends me money. He helps me take care of my son,” she concluded.
