The 2021 edition of the African Cashless Payment Systems (ACPS) Conference is set to be held in Accra at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel from 28th to 30th November 2021.
This year’s theme for the conference is ”Building a Cashless Africa.”
The ACPS Conference promises to be the largest Fintech gathering in Africa due to the rapid structural economic changes happening via technology.
The Conference will highlight the future of Africa in the face of modern Cashless Payment Systems such as Debit cards, Credit cards, electronic funds transfers, e-Wallet, Mobile Money, Automated Teller Machines (ATM) and e-Commerce Payment Systems among others through forty (40) presentations from twenty expert speakers, six group projects, six panel discussions and sixty exhibition booths from leading banking solutions service providers in the world.
The country representative for ACPS Nii Amarh Amartefio at a press conference disclosed that the Guest of Honor for the conference will be the Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia .
He added that the government of Ghana is collaborating with telcos like MTN, Vodafone AirtelTigo and other financial institutions in and outside Ghana to better the cashless system in the coming years.
In Furtherance the country representative added that, the conference will facilitate the latest technological demonstrations, knowledge sharing, high-level networking, and most importantly, one-on-one business meetings between decision-makers and top-tier solution providers transforming the digital future of the financial firmament of the region.
Thomas Quartey Kwesi, Deputy Chairperson, African Union; Ernest Addison, Governor of the Central Bank of Ghana; Ken Ofori Atta, Ghana’s Finance Minister; Zainab Ahmed Minister of Finance, Budget, Nigeria and National Planning, Isa Pantami, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Nigeria, David Solomon, Executive Director, Goldman Sachs are among dignitaries billed to attend the event.
Others include Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Ghana’s Minister for Communication; Archie Hesse, CEO of GHIPSS, Ghana, will speak on topical issues affecting cashless transactions in Africa.
