Ghanaian Afrobeats artists Darkovibes says every artiste in the industry is hardworking and hence should be appreciated and given the needed support with the brands they identify themselves with.
In an interview on Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon FM, the ‘Stay woke’ hitmaker says it is needless for entertainment pundits and critics to compare artistes and rather they should support their craft. “Comparison is the thief of joy. Once you compare other people’s success with yours, you become extremely unhappy because you are not minding your business but someone else and that person’s business is paining you.”
He concluded that “everyone is really working hard on their brands. Extremely hard, and all we need is support.”
Speaking about his early days in music, the musician told Arnold that they were exposed to new things each time they stepped in the studio and “Hanging out with JoeyB shaped me. Working together with JoeyB, we had to experiment, like trying new things.”
“Everyone comes to the studio with their A game. When the producers are coming, they produce very hard. So when you go slack, you go fit wake ip the following morning wey only the beat the play. The vocals no deh top,” he added.
Touching on his new single featuring Davido ‘Je m’appelle’ the musician revealed that it took him about a month to meditate on the beat before attempting it.
“I had to meditate on the beat for a while. It took me two months to attend to the beat.”
Darkovibes admitted the fact that he sometimes get what he described as ‘creative block.’ So when it happens “I leave whatever I am doing to refresh and come back.”
The musician says with the phenomenon of people leaking songs in the industry, he begs his acquaintances not to leak his songs.
He said “ I the beg them not to leak my songs. It is an asset you have to respect it. You don’t have to mess up the asset.”
