Ghana’s head coach Milovan Rajevac has dropped the captain of the Black Stars, Andre Dede Ayew for the fourth group match of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe today in Harare.

Coach Rajevac’s first meeting upon his return as Black Stars head coach was with Captain Andre Ayew, but, the Serbian trainer informed the skipper that he would not be guaranteed his starting role as he was under previous coaches.

The starting lineup for Ghana comprises Wolacott Joseph, Daniel Amartey, Baba Abdul Rahman, Alexander Djiku, Jonathan Mensah, Baba Iddrisu, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Suleymama Kamal Deen, Kudus Mohammed and Benjamin Tetteh, with Thomas Partey leading the stars this afternoon as the captain.

After a convincing win against Zimbabwe last Sunday, Ghana is hoping to secure a maximum three points against the Warriors to come top of the table in group G before the commencement of the second group game between South Africa and Ethiopia later today.

The two countries have met on seven occasions with four wins for Ghana, one win for Zimbabwe and a draw in two games.

The match kickstarts at exactly 1:00 pm GMT.
