The Cape Coast Metropolitan Security Council (MESEC) has banned persons below 25 years from using tricycles (Pragyia, Aboboya) within the area.

Unregistered tricycles and unlicensed riders are also banned from operations.

According to a press statement issued by the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly, all tricycles are prohibited from using the Accra-Takoradi highway, and all operations must take place between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. “Sand winning activities along the beaches are banned” the statement added.

The release also said “open defecation is also prohibited in the Metropolis”.

Members of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Security Council agreed on the following security measures during their meeting on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, and decided to begin enforcing them on Monday, November 15, 2021.
