The Akatsi District Police have rescued a baby boy who was dumped in a bush in Agbaflome, an Akatsi suburb. The Akatsi District Police have rescued a baby boy who was dumped in a bush in Agbaflome, an Akatsi suburb.

Statement from Volta Regional Police Command said “The infant was rescued from a cassava farm in Agbaflome in the afternoon of October 27 2021 following a timely distress call to the police by a community member”.

When police arrived, they discovered the baby naked on a piece of cloth crying helplessly beneath a cassava tree. He has since been taken to the Akatsi Municipal Hospital for examination. He is healthy and stable, the Statement noted.

The police however are collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to locate the mother of the little boy to assist the investigation.
