Even before he wins the primary to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into the 2024 presidential elections,fFormer President John Mahama is promising to continue with projects started by the current government should he be sworn into office on January 7, 2025.

This was contained in his address to the Bono Regional House of Chiefs in Sunyani as part of his “Thank You Tour” of the region.

He criticized the Nana Addo led the administration of abandoning projects started by the erstwhile NDC government of which he (John Mahama) was the President, adding that that action by the current government has caused the country to lose huge sums of money as a result.

John Mahama who was accompanied by his running mate in the 2020 elections, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman used the occasion to seek blessings.

On job creation, Mr. Mahama insisted that the current government has not done enough, adding that the next NDC administration will put job creation as it topmost priority.

The NDC is open to dialogue on youth employment so as to address challenges in that area,” he stated.

On his part, the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs appealed to Mr. Mahama to endeavour to continue projects started by the previous governments to ensure continuity of developmental initiatives if he came back to power in the 2024 general election.

He also called on the government to set up a Committee to investigate the violence that occurred in the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

Former President Mahama thanked the people of the Bono Region for showing support to the NDC during the 2020 elections.
