The Deputy Director of Research for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kale Caeser has attributed the seeming hike in crime and spousal related killings to what he called untold hardship and hunger imposed on Ghanaians by the Nana Addo led government.
Speaking on Accra based Power 97.9 FM, monitored by Mynewsafric.com, the deputy research director of the NDC who doubles as the former deputy minister for the Upper West region blamed the recent spate of crime in the country on “bad governance of Nana Akufo-Addo.”
“Official report indicates that from January to June this year, about 300 people have been murdered, but Mugabe you know what, this is not the true figure. People who have been reported missing are more than 100,” he noted.
He said the president should have been able to charge the security agencies to be on their toes and deal ruthlessly with criminals by now, wondering why Mr. Akufo-Addo has not reacted to the dangerous development in the country.
“Armed robbery has heightened. An international journalist was shot recently and till now the president has not been able to say anything about his gruesome murder,” he stated and contended that the government’s response to such issues can help tackle the canker.
He also admonished the Christian and Muslim leaders to do well to use their platforms to talk about the recent spike in crimes in the country.
“Our clergy should not be only talking about homosexuality but they should channel their energy to also talking about the insecurity in the country,” he added.
