NADMO appeal

One Wednesday September 1, 2021 the North East Regional National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), John Alhassan, has appealed to corporate Ghana to support the organization in providing relief items to flood victims in the region.

He said the region is overwhelmed by the impact of the flooding and the damage caused to residents in the region.

He confirmed that some nine persons lost their lives as a result of the flooding.

Giving the breakdown, he disclosed that in the East Mamprusi District, three farmers who were returning from their farm were hit by thunder lighting resulting in the death of two of them on the spot whereas the other victim died at the hospital.

Also, in the West Mamprusi Municipality, Alhassan Adams, a farmer who had gone to the farm to harvest groundnuts, died when his boat capsized on his way back home.

Mr. Alhassan said although NADMO has provided some relief items to the affected people, much is still needed, hence his appeal.
