Legendary musician Bob Pinodo, known in real life as Robert Kwaku Aidan said his first experience with Indian hemp or ‘Wee’ was not pleasant, as he started seeing people around him after smoking the illegal substance “as mosquitoes”.

Speaking to Blakk Rasta host of Taxi Driver on Zylofon FM, the legendary musician said the experience after experimenting with the substance for the first time, was a very exciting one.

He explained “I tried Indian hemp once and didn’t try it for the second time because I was so excited, all my eyes were closed. I was just laughing. Anytime I see somebody, I see him as mosquito.”

Bob Pinodo said Indian hemp back in his days were used wisely and you could not identify if someone had smoked the substance or not.

He revealed that coming from a Christian background, his father was against his decision to do music, a situation explained let to him changing his name from Robert Kwaku Aidan to Bob Pinodo.

My father didn’t want me to be a musician because he is a Christian. I was singing the western songs, and he didn’t want me to do that. That is why I changed my name from Robert Kwaku Aidan to Bob Aidan,” he said.

On why he chose to write one of his songs, “the girl with the guitar shape”, Bob Pinodo intimated that he was influenced by the environment around him.
