Popular Ghanaian Gospel musician Joyce Blessing has revealed in a latest interview that her colleague gospel musician Cecilia Marfo has apologized to her after an incident during a live performance in Kumasi.

In the late days of January 2021, it was reported that Joyce Blessing was performing at the Unity Group of Companies Annual Thanksgiving Service when Marfo barged unto the stage, snatched the microphone and directed her to be quiet and afterward subjected the former to series of rebukes and warnings.

Speaking in an interview with Sammy Flex, host of Showbiz Agenda on Zylofon FM and Zylofon TV, the ‘I Swerve’ hit maker disclosed that after the incident, Cecelia Marfo reached out to her through her (Marfo) husband’s phone to apologize. She added that Mrs. Marfo’s husband also use the opportunity to accentuate the apology of his wife.

I have not met her after the incident in Kumasi. Her husband called and I didn’t pick, because I was getting a lot of calls after the incident and didn’t know he was the one. So she called someone who got through to me, and she apologized. Her husband took the lead to apologize before she did,” Joyce Blessing said in Twi.

Recounting what happened on stage, she said “Before she took the Mic, I was already in the spirit. I applied wisdom when she took the mic…she is an elder to me in every aspect, so I could not challenge her. It disturbed me though. Because as at the time, my name was everywhere. I waited for her to say all she had to say before getting off the stage.”

Joyce Blessing has been missing in the music scene for a while. According to the musician, she has decided to sit back and allow the Holy Spirit to direct her.

She released a new single titled ‘Oluwa is involved,’ which she said speaks about her story.
