Moroccan club, Raja Casablanca won the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday evening after defeating JS Kabylie from Algeria 2-1.
First-half goals from Soufiane Rahimi and Ben Malango Ngita were enough for the Green Eagles to finish as champions at Cotonou’s Stade de l’Amitie, although Zakaria Boulahia pulled one back for the Lions of Djurdjura.
Despite playing the last 27 minutes with a man less after Omar Arjoune was sent of for dangerous play, Lassaad Chabbi’s men kept their nerve to win the competition for the second time in their history.
JS Kabylie were unable to mount a comeback amidst their numerical advantage, as they suffered for their wastefulness.
The Moroccans will face either Al Ahly or Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Super Cup.
