Some youth in Asikuma Odoben Brakwa in the Central Region have been picked up by the Police for assaulting two officers on duty at Breman Agoase.

The two Police officers were detailed to the town to effect an arrest of two suspects who were accused of defilement.

According to reports picked by Mynewsafric.com, the two police officers were attacked after two suspects, Emmanuel Donkor, 19 years, and Kofi Shaibu, 22, were reported to the Breman Brakwa police station for defiling a 16-year-old girl.

The two officers went to the community to arrest the suspects. After arresting them some youth in the community attacked them and beat them up” said the Asikuma District Police Commander Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Odokoh Baah.

The attack on the officers is said to have provoked a police swoop in the community which led to the arrest of some 40 youth for further interrogation.

Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Odokoh Baah also said some of the suspects are old and may be allow to go after questionings.
