President Akufo-Addo has issued a public appeal for a public inquiry into the circumstances that led to the deaths of two people in Ejura on June 29th.

The presidency said that the president has instructed the agriculture minister ten days to deliver a thorough report of the inquiry.

The Interior Minister has agreed to submit a full report with recommendations by July 9, 2021, with relevant action.

It was released in response to the death of two individuals and the injuries of four others during a protest on Tuesday morning, which was suppressed by the security forces.

The situation became problematic when the joint Police and Military team intervened while asking for justice for deceased social activist Kaaka Mohammed.

The statement stating the President has shed tears over the deaths of Ibrahim Mohammed, also known as “Kaaka,” and the other two individuals who died was released.

In his message, he expresses sincere condolences to the relatives of the deceased and hopes that the injured recover soon.
