Burkina Faso’s Army reported that it killed more than 25 terrorists but lost three soldiers and six volunteers in sweep operations from June 7 to June 13.
The operations were carried out in the aftermath of an assault that killed 132 persons on a small-scale mining site in the village of Solhan, north-eastern Sahel region of the country, the army stated in a report.
According to the report, multiple sweep operations were carried out in various areas of the region, leading to the deaths of around 10 assailants and the confiscation of rolling stock.
The continuing operations have discovered one improvised explosive device, which has been rendered harmless, according to the report from Burkina Faso’s Army.
Armed persons attacked a combined military and gendarmerie patrol in the northwestern part of the country, particularly on June 10.
According to the army, around 15 assailants were killed during the response, and a large amount of light and heavy weaponry, ammunition, and rolling stock were also captured.
