The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service said it has found what is suspected to be the burnt hair of a woman who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend and kept in a refrigerator at Fiave, a suburb of Ho in the Volta Region.
Statement from the Police revealed that the following items were found at the crime scene and were suspected to be the things used by the suspected killer in perpetrating the crime.
A rod suspected to have been used to control the burning was also retrieved from the backyard.
Additionally, the police found some documents from the suspect’s room to aid with its investigation.
The police also discovered a carpet soaked with blood in the suspect’s room.
Some clothes used to conceal the body were also soaked with blood.
However, residents have described the couple as inseparable, saying the couple were always seen together.
Background
The Volta Regional Police Command on November 23, 2021 declared one Frank wanted after he was suspected to have murdered his girlfriend and deposited her in his refrigerator.
Police statement available to Mynewsafric.com said on November 22, 2022 at about 9:00am the police received information from close door neighbours of the suspect Ho-Fiave that on that day, they observed a strong stench emanating from Frank’s room with house flies hovering around the windows and door.
Police investigators were dispatched to the scene and while they broke into the room, they found the remains of the girlfriend of the suspect only known Lizzy, dead in a double-decker refrigerator.
The tenant, Frank was nowhere to be found. An investigative team proceeded to the scene and after careful inspection of the crime scene, the statement from the Police indicated.
At the time of retrieving the body of the deceased, it was already in an advanced state of decomposition according to Police statement.
