The Minority group in Ghana’s Parliament led by Haruna Iddrisu have reiterated their position not to approve the 2022 budget and economic policy if their demands are not met.

In a short video at the Parliament at the time of meeting with leaders of the “Yentua Demo” on Friday November 26, 2021 by some pressure groups, the minority leader said they are waiting to hear from the government, adding that there are certain items they wish be removed from the budget, such as E-levy and until those are fulfilled, they will not approve the budget.

Earlier, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Sam Nartey George was furious over what seem to be planned decision by the majority side to absent themselves from Parliament, as the house brings the debate of the 2022 budget to a close.

Sam George did not understand why the majority would engage in such ‘blatant’ act, asking if the majority was afraid of the “hardship they have imposed on Ghanaians” as contained in the budget.
