The Head of Security for Francis Xavier Sosu, Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency has told Mynewsafric.com that his boss is fine following his botched arrest at a Church on Sunday October 31, 2021.

Although Chris Ankou who is the Head of Security for the legislator could not disclose the MP’s whereabouts, he only said “everything is fine, he is doing fine now”.

Reports were rife on Sunday afternoon that some security men who verbally identified themselves as National Security Operatives in a truck with registration plate GH BANGA – 1 were in the Believers’ House of Prayer Ministries to arrest Francis Xavier Sosu.

Although the security men were not able to give any reason for the arrest, some believed it was in connection with the demonstration which was led by the MP. It took the resistance of the youth from the constituency to stop the ‘National Security’ operatives from whisking the MP away.

A few days ago, the Madina MP had complained on the floor of Parliament on how he was manhandled by the Police when he was about addressing his constituents who were demonstrating over bad roads in the area.

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin in responding to the complaint from the Madina MP referred the matter to the Privileges Committee for a thorough investigation to be conducted, leading to an invitation of two Police Officers who are closely related to the incident by the Privileges Committee.

Meanwhile, few hours after the Sunday unsuccessful arrest, unconfirmed reports have it that Inspector Daniel Agbavor who is assigned to provide security for the MP has been relieved off his duty as a police officer.

This was posted on the Facebook wall of Chris Ankou who is the head of security for the Madina MP.

Our source at the Police Headquarters could not confirm or deny the rumour but said the Police hierarchy will soon issue statement to clarify the issue.
