The Deputy Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar has urged students to invest their time in self- development projects as that is one of the surest ways to guarantee a brighter future.
The Deputy Minister made the call when she was delivering the Keynote address at the 22nd Session of the JHS Model United Nations at the Accra International Conference Centre on October 24, 2021.
The theme for the conference was: “Working Together for a Sustainable and Inclusive Society in a Post COVID-19 Era.”
Madam Abubakar used the opportunity to admonish the students to actively participate in all conference activities especially at the plenary and committee level while assuring them that an investment in self-development guarantees a bright future.
In a post on her Facebook wall seen by Mynewsafric.com, the Deputy Information Minister wrote “I admonished the students to actively participate in all conference activities especially at the plenary and committee level and assured them that an investment in self-development guarantees a bright future”.
“I assure you that an investment in self development guarantees a brighter future “ she emphasized.
Each year, the confereence hosts about 200 delegates from basic schools across Ghana and beyond. Interesting topics are selected to be debated by the students using rules that are easy and flexible for them to navigate with.
Life-Link Friendship Schools-Ghana, the organizers of JHSMUN is a Non-Governmental organization actively involve in developing the Ghanaian youth in Leadership, Teamwork and United Nations Programs and proceedings.
