Accra based club, Hearts of Oak have issued an apology on Monday to their fanbase after their thrashing at the the hands of Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) popularly known as Wydad Casablanca.

The Phobians were crushed 6-1 in the last preliminary round of the CAF Champions League on Sunday in an empty Mohamed V Stadium after a brave 1-0 victory over the Moroccans in Accra few days earlier.

Meanwhile, the club in a press release said they have succumbed to the painful defeat although they knew they could have put up a proper performance than what they showed.

The release pleaded with supporters to rally behind the club in the CAF Confederations Cup as they look to make amends.
