The Kaneshie District Court presided over by His Worship, Kofi Oheneba-Kuffour has remanded Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face into Police custody for three weeks.

The judge also ordered for psychiatric evaluation for Funny Face to ensure that the comedian is mentally fit to pave way for his trial as he “does not appear normal but depressed”.

Funny Face who appeared in court today without a counsel, has been charged with one count of threat of death by the police.

But after a brief sitting, the court adjourned the case to November 10, 2021 to allow for medical examination to be conducted on the accused.

In a related matter, Ghanaian Dancehall musician Shatta Wale has also been kept in Police custody to reappear in court on Thursday October 21, 2021.

Police took the musician to his home on Wednesday afternoon for a search in his premises but was later returned to custody.

Shatta Wale reported himself to the Police on Tuesday October 19,201 after his house was surrounded by dozens of officers following claims that he was shot by unknown gunmen.

Two other persons who are close to the musician are also in Police custody in relation to the Monday incident.
