Some football fans have rally their support behind the Ghana football Associations decision to embark on the “no vaccination no entry” policy this football season.

The decision of the GFA to embark on this journey according to some fans is a step in a right direction because it is going to help curb the spread of Covid-19 virus and one way of getting a lot of Ghanaians vaccinated.

The GFA president Kurt Okraku in his address at the 27th normal session of congress which happened at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of excellence at Prampram said that, the GFA will work together with the government and stakeholders to ensure that fans take their COVID-19 jabs before they are allowed into the stadium to watch the various games.

Some football fans Mynewsafric.com spoke to, have lauded the decision by the GFA, asking that it should be implemented across the country

Nana Kofi a football fan said “this is a step in a right direction not just for the football fraternity but the country as a whole because having just few people vaccinated is very bad, so this will boost (sic) people to go and get vaccinated and over 80% Ghanaians will be vaccinated”.

Another fan who gave his name as Malouda was of the view that “ It is a good idea but will they follow the measures GFA have put in place?, they should also make sure that even if you’re vaccinated, you put on the nose mask and use the hand sanitizer and also the officials and journalist should adhere to it”.

However, on his part, Charles has different view. He said “I think the comment made by the GFA President is just to get the attention of Government that they are also playing their role in sensitizing the public to get vaccinated so that government will become happy seeing such initiative by the FA so that when they approach the government to increase the number of stadium capacity from 25% to more, they will grant their wish”.
