Dzodze Police have arrested two young men for allegedly using motorbikes to conduct robbery operations in the area.

The two Michael Maccatus, 31 and Wisdom Agbotokpo, 25 have been arrested and detained by Dzodze Police after they were handed over by some youth from Tadzewu.

Statement released to the media on Thursday September 30, 2021, stated that the suspects hired the services of Victim Awudi Kwame, a commercial motor rider; (Okada rider) from Tadzewu to Ave-Dakpa on Wednesday September 28, 2021 about 14:30 hours.

The suspects had concealed a cutlass and jack knife with the intention of attacking victim and taking possession of the said motorbike.

While in transit at Ative near Tadzewu, suspects ordered victim to stop and he obliged. They further ordered him to surrender his motorbike keys which he declined. At the instance, suspects attacked victim with their weapons and inflicted wounds on his head, but victim managed to escape into the bush with the motor keys.

Michael Maccatus and Wisdom Agbotokpo then pushed the motorbike away from the scene.

Victim however courageously made a distress call to his colleagues in Tadzewu who pursued suspects and arrested them at Kugbakorpe, near Xevi escaping with the motorbike.

The suspects were then handed over to the Dzodze Police where victim later lodged a formal complaint for assistance. Both cutlass and jack knife have been retrieved from suspects as well as the Sanya motorbike.

Meanwhile, the victim Awudi Kwame has received medical attention and is in good health.

Michael Maccatus and Wisdom Agbotokpo will be arraigned before the Tokor Circuit Court on Friday October 1, 2021 at 10:30 hours.

The Police Command used the opportunity to expresses its appreciation to the youth of Tadzewu for the bravery and patriotic spirit exhibited in arresting these miscreants.

We believe that together we can fight crime to the barest minimum and also encourage the public to continue such partnership”.
