The Volta Regional Police Command have picked up three persons in connection with recruitment fraud in the region.
The three, Bernard Amenyah, 18, Godsway Adzikah, 23, and Godson Wemegah, 21 were tracked and arrested at their hideout in Akatsi.
According to Police statement from the region, the arrest on September 14, 2021 followed an investigation that revealed a fraudulent Facebook publication purported to have been created by the Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Edward Oduro Kwarteng, advertising to assist potential applicants to be enlisted into the Ghana Police Service.
It said preliminary investigation revealed that many unsuspecting citizens and job potential seekers have paid various sums of money to the fraudsters with the hope of being favoured in the ongoing recruitment exercise.
“ The Command wishes to state that it is not responsible for recruiting persons into the service, as such, desperate applicants should be wary of protocol allocations being offered all over the place”.
The Volta Regional Police Command said it remains resolute in pursuit of recruitment charlatans in the region and has arrested a total of five suspects in the past weeks.
The police, further call on persons who have fallen victims to the scam to report to the command to assist in the investigation and prosecution.
