The Member of Parliament for Yendi Constituency Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has underscored the need for unity in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) especially, within the Yendi Constituency ahead of the 2024 election.

According to him unity among members of the NPP will enable the party to break the 8 years cycle to ensure the transformation agenda started by the Nana Akoffu Addo administration is continued.

The MP made the called when he addressed the party’s Annually Delegate Conference in Yendi.

Alhaji Farouk also assured members of the party his commitment towards ensuring equaled opportunities to party members, within the Yendi Constituency.

He also thank both the party executives and the electorate for the confidence posed in him, and called on supporters of the party to work extra hard and rally behind him to enable him transformed the area.

The MP after the addressed also presented GHC 70,000 to the constituency, the donation according to him is to aid the constituency executives carryout the party activities effectively in the area.

It would be recalled that The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on Sunday, August 8, 2021, while addressing the Central Regional Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) conference at the University of Cape Coast, made similar call on the party supporters, saying the Patriotic Party (NPP) will break the eight years election cycle in Ghana with a victory in the 2024 polls.

According to him, the aim is to sustain the socio-economic gains that the Akufo-Addo administration has achieved.

He said that would be hinged on the party’s commitment to accelerate socio-economic and infrastructural development across the country, and the various social intervention programmes that are transforming the lives of all Ghanaians under the stewardship of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He added that President Akufo-Addo is determined to hand over power to another NPP regime, hence his unwavering commitment to working tirelessly at all times to make sure the party succeeds in governance.

Dr. Bawumia said the NPP is determined to build upon the solid foundation it had laid and, as well, complete all innovative initiatives in fulfillment of its 2020 manifesto pledge.
