The President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo ,ay have implored everyone to take part in this year’s enumeration but the Founder of All People’s Party (APC).Dr. Hassan Ayariga said he together with his family will not participate in the ongoing census describing it as bogus.

The APC leader at a press conference on June 29, 2021 explained that the census, which costs the country an amount in the region of about USD 550 million, is a waste of money, saying the money should have been invested in a national data base system instead of the census which will not be a true reflection of situation on the ground.

We need to be serious as a country and put up a National data system to capture everybody. Then you come and say I should line up to be counted, I won’t line up to be counted”, Mr. Ayariga said.

He said given the opportunity, he can put up a national data system that would render census useless adding that census is not the way to go as far as data capturing is concerned.

The APC Presidential Candidate in the 2020 elections also took a swipe at President Akufo Addo for what he said is failure on the part of the President to build a resilient economy as he promised in opposition but rather drive the country’s economy into ditch. “The President is watching the citizenry living in state of fear due to an increased insecurity in the country yet cannot do anything”.

On the #FixTheCountry campaign, Mr. Ayariga bemoaned the use of the Police Service by government in preventing the youth from demonstrating, adding that the exercise “is necessary to put the country on a right footing.”

You participated in 59 demonstrations in this country. You cannot use the Police to stop people from demonstrating”, Dr. Ayariga emphasized.
