The Head of social media and Digital Innovations at the Ministry of Information Nathaniel Alpha said partisan considerations will not be one of the requirements for qualified youths to join the digital platform set up by the ministry to support works of young indigenous companies.
The Ministry of information launched AMPLIFIED, a digital marketing initiative to support the work of young indigenous companies and entrepreneurs in Ghana to boost sales and increase global visibility to drive social courses led my young people and promote mentoring opportunities for the youth across the country.
The Minister of Information, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, who launched the project in Accra last week described it as a social marketing project that would leverage the growing followership of the ministry’s social media handles to showcase the innovations of entrepreneurs in the country.
The Head of social media and Digital Innovations Nathaniel Alpha in an interview with Zylofon FM’s Noel Nutsugah, stated that the initiative is non-partisan, but open to every qualified Ghanaian youth to join regardless of their party affiliations adding that so far, the ministry has employed the services of popular social media influencers Ameyaw Debrah and Kwadwo Sheldon. He said the two have pledged to work at no cost to the Nation.
He explained that the project is in three categories, Amplified Business, Amplified Success and Amplified Social, adding the three categories will allow the ministry to use its social media platforms to amplify the products and services of young entrepreneurs to enable them to reach larger audiences.
“For example, Amplified Success is for mentoring the youth and sharing inspiring stories, while Amplified Social will promote critical social protection programmes and courses to get the needed attention and partnership,” the minister added.
Other partners are the Ministry of Trade and its agencies, the ministries of Gender and Social Protection, Education and Youth and Sports.
