Newly sworn-in Northern Regional Minister Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu is urging staff of the various departments under the Northern Regional Coordinating Council to collaborate with his office to achieve the vision of the government.

According to him, his mandate is to coordinate the human resource base of the region for development hence the need for more collaboration among the departments to achieve this aim.

Speaking on Monday after taking over from his predecessor, Alhaji Shaibu said, “my work here is simple and that is to coordinate all of the departments here to achieve the President’s vision.

In this regard, I would like to solicit your support to push the region forward”.

He stressed that, he is coming in to continue from where his predecessor Salifu Saeed left off.

“I am not here to change anything but to continue with what my predecessor begun and also consolidating the gains we have achieved as a people”, he stressed.

The minister after a brief meeting with some senior members of the RCC, was taken round the ministries where he met with the staff and discussed matters relating to the development of the northern region.

Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu is much particular about sustaining the gains the region chalked in terms of restoring peace in Dagbon.

Explaining how important peace is, Alhaji Shaibu said “we must guard jealously the peace we are enjoying today so that we can attract more investors to the region”.
